1. Installation
We recommend that you close all applications before installing. This includes Explorer, File Manager, third-party software, and so on.
To install a product, double-click SETUP.EXE on the CD and follow the instructions.
We recommend that you accept all default options in the installation. The Indeo Codecs and the TechSmith Codec options are required for viewing any videos, animations, and demos in the product.
2. Starting the Course, Lab or Exam
This product contains the stand-alone version of the TestOut Navigator. The navigator contains a list of TestOut products currently installed. To start a course, lab or exam, highlight the item and click the Start button on the TestOut Navigator.
After installation, use the Start menu to start the TestOut Navigator. Click Start, Programs, TestOut, TestOut Navigator. This will launch the TestOut Navigator from which you can launch any course, lab or exam that you have installed.
If you have completed a course and want to remove it from the TestOut Navigator, click the Options button on the TestOut Navigator and move the course to the Uninstalled Products box. The course can be moved back to the Installed Products list at any time (if needed). Click the Help button on the TestOut Navigator for details.

4. Known Problems
Our products may not install or execute correctly if anti-virus software, or similar types of software programs, have been installed on your system. To solve this problem, disable the anti-virus software, reboot (be sure this does not re-enable the anti-virus software), and try again.
If you are having trouble with the appearance of the screen (text appears outside the boundaries of the fields or test questions are hard to read), make sure that you have selected small fonts in your display settings. For Windows NT 4.0, go to Control Panel, Display, Settings. Set the Font Size to Small Fonts. For Windows 98, the path is Control Panel, Display, Settings, Advanced.
5. Upgrading from a Previous TestOut Product
If you install an older product after you install this product, you may have problems running all installed products. To solve the problem, simply reinstall this product.
6. Removing TestOut Products
To uninstall all TestOut products, use the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel.
