Description:
Hi, All.
This document describes the contents of the "Edgar Wallace EBook Torrent".
The "Edgar Wallace E-Book Torrent" contains all the e-books available on the
American and Australian Gutenberg Projects and the Internet Archive as text
files and saved web pages in the Internet Explorer mht-format in the English
language as of 18-JUN-2008. Selected files are also included as pdf. For any
further details see the torrent details (e.g. using the "Details" tab for the
mininova web site).
In addition two e-books in pdf format in German are also included: "Der Hexer"
and "Das Gesetz der Vier". Those two books came to me over some other torrent;
I do not remember exactly from where. I wish I would.
I am also including some info on Edgar Wallace and his works. This info consists
of three articles all starting with "Info - ".
The formats used for the e-books in this torrent are text, pdf and mht.
Whereas the first two do not require any explanations, let me elaborate on mht:
Mht is what you get when you use "Save As" in Internet Explorer (IE) and select
"Web Archive, Single File (*.mht)". The advantage of this format is that it
(a) can be easily renamed and (b) can be much faster backed up than a saved web
page with it's attendant folder containing lots of small files. For these
reasons all my HTML e-books are saved as mht's. Mht files can be opened by IE
or SeaMonkey under Linux. Take mht or leave mht - I don't really care.
It works for me, though.
As regards to the filenames of the e-books: all filenames include the
publishing date. I felt that this is useful when dealing with an author whose
works are as prolific as Edgar Wallace's. Again: if you don't like that then
use a file renaming like "Lupas Rename" to suit your needs - google it, find it,
use it, don't ask me for help.
The e-books in this torrent do NOT comprise the complete works of Edgar Wallace.
The reason for this is that the complete works of Edgar Wallace are not available
on-line as of 18-JUN-2008. What this torrent includes is everything available from
Edgar Wallace on the American and Australian Gutenberg Projects and the Internet
Archive as of the before mentioned date. Where I found some volume duplicated on the
before mentioned sites then I gave first preference to the American Gutenberg project,
secondly to the Australian Gutenberg project and lastly the Internet Archive.
I am looking for any Edgar Wallace e-books in German language and any new
English language Edgar Wallace e-books not contained in this torrent. Just point
me in the right direction - I'll do the rest.
Enjoy,
cklammer
