Probably best known for the cult TV hit Ace of Wands, his CV includes Callan, Public Eye and The Sweeney. He also created Out and Fox, two landmark ITV drama serials back when ITV still did landmark drama serials. In this new play, Thomas (Rory Kinnear) always dreams he's in a thriller. But the highs and lows he experiences in real life are down to his manic depression. It's funny and surprising, but what works best is how Preston and Kinnear make you truly feel Thomas's bipolar lurches.
