The film is loosely connected with the myths about Theseus but some features are kept, like the beginning of the story. Long before humans and even animals appeared on Earth it was ruled by powerful creatures who battled each other in order to gain all the power in the world. As a result of a large scale war those who won titled themselves Gods while the others were called Titans and locked down into the Mount Tartarus. The Epirus Bow is a powerful weapon which can release Titans and start the war again. Hyperion’s family was killed and now he curses the Gods and wishes to bring that Bow to release the Titans. His army invades every town and takes everything they want killing the rest of the village. In a village where a strong and dignified warrior Theseus performed by Henry Cavill lives with his mother there is an army that is intended to fight Hyperion. Theseus is not a proper soldier since his mother gave him birth after she was raped. However, a wicked soldier Lysander performed by Joseph Morgan teases Theseus and gets sacked from the army. Offended he joins Hyperion’s army and shows him the location of the village.
