The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)

A bewildering adaptation of the first book from the Millennium series trilogy by Swedish writer and journalist Stieg Larsson. He died in November 2004 leaving his work unpublished. All three books were published one by one and became best sellers worldwide. The first book is originally titled Men Who Hate Women which was published in 2005 and first adapted to a film in 2009 by a Swedish director Niels Arden Oplev. This adaptation which was started in 2010 in Stockholm was realized by a remarkable American director David Fincher. The critics speculated a lot about his own view on the novel since it was pretty much adapted to Fincher’s “wicked” world of uncanny, dark situations. However, Stieg Larsson’s view on this world wasn’t as well much joyful since the whole book was based on the author’s awful experience of a girl raped by 15 people. This picture is much about the violence and if this matters revenged violence. In the center of a film there is a strange social outcast named Lisbeth Salander greatly performed by Rooney Mara . She is emo-punk looking brainiac who is much smarter than all of the characters in the film. She happens to get connected to an investigator Mikael Blomkvist performed by Daniel Craig who has just failed his case in court and has no choice as to accept old Henrik Vanger’s task to find out about his beloved missing niece Harriette who disappeared 40years ago.
