Cesar Millan has been called a Dr. Phil for dogs, and for good reason. Cesar's amazing rehabilitations of aggressive, scared, lazy, compulsive, and jealous dogs captured the national spotlight when his National Geographic Channel (NGC) series Dog Whisperer premiered in September 2004. Regular viewers soon came to realize it wasn't the dogs but the quirky owners who needed Cesar's help the most. In January 2006, Dog Whisperer returned for a primetime second season with expanded hour-long episodes. The expanded hour-long episodes of the subsequent seasons give viewers what they are clamoring for: more time to witness Cesar's rehabilitation of dogs and training of their owners. Going directly into homes without any prior information or preparation on that day's case, Dog Whisperer documents the remarkable transformations that take place under Cesar's calm-assertive guidance. Cesar is often the last resort for clients confronting crises with their beloved pets. While most of Dog Whisperer episodes take place in and near the homes of dogs and their owners, Cesar sometimes decides to bring extreme cases to his Dog Psychology Center for Power of the Pack training. There, they meet his resident dogs, which number as many as 50 at a time, last-chance Rottweilers, pit bulls, and Dobermans originally marked for death but now enjoying a new lease on life while assisting Cesar in training other dogs. Dog Whisperer is produced by MPH Entertainment and Emery/Sumner Productions for National Geographic Channel (NGC). Executive producers for MPH Entertainment are Jim Milio, Melissa Jo Peltier, and Mark Hufnail. Sheila Possner Emery and Kay Bachman Sumner are producers. New York Times writer John Grogan has a new yellow lab, Gracie, who has become a terror. She refuses to come into the house when called and has eaten one of his pet chickens. Cesar is called in to give Gracie some lessons in respect. Paul Frank Industries allows workers to bring their dogs into work. A majority of the dogs behave, except two: boxer Bella and pit bull mix Big Boy. Can he balance this company and its pack of unruly pooches or is he in for a "ruff" day at the office?
